Difficult return

Back in Paris, we set off once again for Rennes to see René Guillon and the good Rector of St-Melaine, who was upset that we had taken so long to go see him. How we managed to fit everyone in is beyond me! My trip back home took 48 hours, with the plane going by way of London, Dublin, Reykjavik, St. John’s, Boston and New York before reaching Montreal. Thankfully Ghylaine’s return trip was more direct—only 15 hours. At last we were back with Christian!

And back to work, with Le nez de Cléopâtre, L’heure du concert/The Concert Hour and Le grenier aux images Despite Ghylaine’s warnings, I gave in to Jean-Marie Gauvreau’s gentle pressure and agreed to go back to the École du Meuble for a year, while still holding onto my various contracts with the Graphic Arts department at Radio-Canada. What a lot of all-nighters I pulled to meet all the demands of teaching, illustrating and creating! Fortunately, the subjects were inspiring!
