Arcos de la Frontera

Arcos de la Frontera is a pueblo blanco (white village) situated on a rocky ridge overlooking the surrounding hills. With its narrow streets, public square (Plaza de Cabildo) and Plateresque (early Spanish Renaissance) churches, it is one of the most beautiful such pueblos in Andalusia. Heavily influenced by Muslim culture, rich with history and tradition, its narrow streets are home to beautiful squares, 13th-century basilicas, 15th-century castles, mudéjar (Moorish) towers, Baroque monasteries and whitewashed houses covered in flowers.
