Granada and the surrounding area

Arguably one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, Granada lies at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalusia, southern Spain. The city was the seat of power of the last Arab emirs, who ruled Andalusia for close to 800 years before falling to the Christians in 1492. Known for its famous Alhambra (or ‘Red Palace’), Granada epitomizes the cultural mix that characterized Spain over many centuries.
