The shipyard

Shipbuilding has long been an important part of Brittany’s economy, particularly in the region’s south. Though historians trace shipyards back to the ancient Romans, the industry became significant for Brittany as of the 18th century, with the rise of international trade and the growing number of exports outside of France.
