The lumberjack

A tough, physically challenging job, logging is practiced in the most heavily forested areas. Using various tools like the axe, hook, buck saw and two-man crosscut saw, the lumberjack (or woodcutter) lived in the woods from late fall to early spring and spent his days cutting down trees, particularly oak. After trees were felled, they would be trimmed and cut into segments on the spot for easy transport.
