The farrier
Farriers tended to the hooves of horses, cows and other beasts of burden — an important job that was much in demand. To do so, they would use several tools, including hoof nippers, shoeing hammers and nail clinchers. In addition to shoeing the hooves, farriers also rounded off their edges and lowered the heels. In addition, they would often repair, manufacture and install various tools used in farming and everyday village life.
