Les mystères de la planète

Weekly program for young people
Broadcast by Radio-Canada in 1955
Host: Jean-Louis Millette

A precursor to the science shows La vie qui bat and Le secret des choses, Les mystères de la planète explored different nature-related subjects, such as bees, sugar beets, beans, maple syrup and salt marshes. "For this program, I was asked to do animated sequences on film, for which I used a rudimentary projector to advance the images one at a time by means of a hand crank. This allowed me to sync the images with the words-an important consideration since the show aired live."
