Storyboard from The Man Who Planted Trees.

The storyboard is a visual rendering of the script that allows the film to be visualized before it is actually made. Used to present an animation project for approval, the storyboard normally takes the form of a series of sketches illustrating the main elements of the plot-much like a comic book. A storyboard is also a means of sharing information with co-workers, since it provides indications as to shot lengths and camera movements. A valuable tool, the storyboard is used to analyze the story and plan the flow of the plot, foresee any technical details that might affect the edit, chart the progress of the work, and plan for sound effects and musical themes.
