Lanscapes and arts

Frédéric Back travelled to Mexico in 1952, 1954 and 1968. He travelled widely on these journeys, visiting Mexico City, Taxco, Cuernavaca, the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco and the Teotihuacan archaeological dig, as well as many other places. His drawings immortalize an amazing variety of landscapes, plants, colours and architectural treasures. Mexico’s pre-Columbian art museums, its lively crafts scene, its frescoes (notably by renowned muralists like Diego Rivera), and its modern, pre-Columbian and colonial architecture provided Frédéric with rich sources of inspiration.
